Our beautiful café was born from a genuine love of serving people and a deep appreciation of the benefits of organic, real food. I describe myself as a US-born, Aussie-raised, Kiwi Girl, and I’m so proud to be able to say that, I just love New Zealand and have called it home since 2009.

I’m a hospo girl from way back – studied catering & hospitality management back in the olden days, when it was barely recognised as a thing! After a career with Hilton Hotels in food & beverage and human resources, I took some time out to become a mum – my greatest passion – before consulting back to the industry on a part-time basis. A career pivot into the fitness industry in 2002 was a great opportunity to learn about nutrition and fitness and the importance of a balanced approach to a healthy lifestyle. I’ve now come full circle to open Street Organics and I’m very grateful to be fulfilling a life-long dream with a talented, dedicated team.

Through my various roles, I’ve enjoyed learning about the technical and personal elements of customer service, the highest value of our people and their development and of course the significant role eating healthy, whole foods plays, in living a long, strong, happy life. My grandmother was testament to this – she lived to nearly 110 years old and her simple, delicious, nutritious cooking is one of my great childhood memories. Nannie was a fabulous cook (as is my Mum!) and was always busy with her preserves, pickling, jams and marmalades, her huge pantry was a chef’s dream! In fact, you’ll find empty jars from her pantry in the café… they are the lights hanging above the bar leaner, I love having a little of her inspiration with me always.
